History

The Nokomis Learning Center was founded in 1988.  The Center's mission is to preserve and present the history, arts and culture of the “people of the Three Fires”-- the Odawa, Potawatomi, and Ojibwe. The building contains an art gallery, an exhibit classroom and a gift shop.  Over 20,000 visitors have participated in programs since its doors first opened.  The center provides tours for over 200 groups each year.
